Science and fundamentalism

November 9th, 2010 — 11:59am

Then He/She/It/They shouldn’t have created us with a brain that was capable of designing and a body capable of executing those experiments, or He/She/It/They should have kept an eye on us and smacked our hand if we tried. IMO deadbeat deities shouldn’t get to wander back into our lives after a long absence without any clear communication with us and immediately get to dictate what we can and cannot do.

inspect the above statement, nice ain’t it? no i dont agree with it, but i do agree think god gave us the capability to do all the scientific research being done now due to the fact that he wants us to, otherwise, like the commenter says “shouldn’t have created us with a brain that was capable of designing and a body capable of executing those experiments”, replacing “shouldn’t” with “wouldn’t” of course.

science and religion aren’t mutually exclusive.

Teleportation

November 4th, 2010 — 12:59pm

the way a teleportation device works, in theory, is by creating an exact copy of the subject at location B while destroying the subject in the process, either to get the exact structure of the subject or to “transfer” the structure (“convert to energy–>energy transported–>energy converted back” theory).

basically it doubles as a cloning device…that kills you in the process :p.

but it doesn’t guarantee continued existence, does the exist at two locations at the same time? if the teleportation happens, does the copy maintain the same memories, ideas, and ambitions as the one destroyed?

strictly speaking,a teleportation device, not other types (wormholes and such) work in concept told my sheldon, and so, is it possible to recrate a soul at point B after recreating (cloning) the body? does the soul even exsist in such a way? questions that cant be answered.

5 Tips for Your First Interview

October 4th, 2010 — 5:05pm

Disclaimer: I totally made those up, that being said, they ain’t half bad.

  1. You should know that there is no “right way” in preparing for your first interview;however, they are many things that you could do to make near perfect.
  2. Dress to impress. The first impression is everything and how you dress is about 80% of the impression you give.
  3. Prepare your Resume Carefully. This piece of paper might have given you a chance to be in the interview in the first time but now it will be used against you, don’t add questioning claims that you can’t support. Don’t add details that maybe unhelpful and or may get you in trouble. Keep it simple.
  4. Expect everything. Depending on what company or what industry, you might be expected to undergo some tests be that a skill test or behavior test.
  5. Language and communication skills are everything. This is more important than you think. Your looks, resume, even your *, but once you start talking, the real you is presented.

In a way, you could use this to your advantage, the interviewer expects to hear certain *magic words*, you have to talk the way she expects you to talk, say what she expects you to say.Basically, interact in a manner that reinforces that first impression that you just gave.

Disclosure: I never had been through a formal interview.

PS: seeing that the article contains a Disclosure and a disclaimer, will you actually take advice? :p

Lyrics

September 6th, 2010 — 1:58pm

didn’t find the lyrics, so i made em.

Artist: Donnie Darko

Title: Devil may cry

Everything that Ive been thru man is all pain

Ive been lied to; all my life is all game

Im looking for the change but everything is the same

Im insane and this pain is just killing my brain

Im alone in my room, thats more time to think

Im alone and stressed, thats more time to drink

Cant sleep, eyes open, no time to blink

Tears coming down my face, heart starting to sink

Its like my life in the gutter, I dont feel my self

Ive ruled everybody around, but not my self

I flip out, wana grasp the bound, hurt my self

But god wont open the case, if I murk my self

Im at war with myself and I cant make peace

On the Right Path

September 3rd, 2010 — 7:23pm

i read an artical today on the economist from an analyst at linkedin.com , the business-oriented social networking website, apparently a high percentage of all CEO’s have a degree on physics, and got an M.B.A within 7 years of graduating.so i must be going on the right path ;)

got this entrepreneurship idea coming up to me on a gold plate, just what i wanted, then i just hit me that i have little sense of business, but there is always room to learn.”

so, part of my plan is to come analyse around 15 markets, industries or “opportunities” how ever you may call them in the month of September and post them right here! this should be interesting.

this should be interesting, for starters, did you know that the profit margin in the bottled water industry can go up to 600% ! but the entry to the market is hard, since its practically flooded (with water?).

Best Ever

August 15th, 2010 — 11:00pm

Its no secret that i think Charles dickens is one of the greatest writers who ever lived, and  ”Great Exceptions” has got to be at top of my “best books ever written” ; let me share some wisdom.

here is excerpt from the book, it has soo much meaning and depth to it that i would be selfish to NOT share :

‘Pip, dear old chap, life is made of ever so many partings welded together, as I may say, and one man’s a blacksmith, and one’s a whitesmith, and one’s a goldsmith, and one’s a coppersmith. Divisions among such must come, and must be met as they come. If there’s been any fault at all to-day, it’s mine. You and me is not two figures to be together in London; nor yet anywheres else but what is private, and beknown, and understood among friends. It ain’t that I am proud, but that I want to be right, as you shall never see me no more in these clothes. I’m wrong in these clothes. I’m wrong out of the forge, the kitchen, or off th’ meshes. You won’t find half so much fault in me if you think of me in my forge dress, with my hammer in my hand, or even my pipe. You  won’t find half so much fault in me if, supposing as you should ever wish to see me, you come and put your head in at the forge window and see Joe the blacksmith, there, at the old anvil, in the old burnt apron, sticking to the old work. I’m awful dull, but I hope I’ve beat out something rnigh the rights of this at last. And so GOD bless you, dear old Pip, old chap, GOD bless you!’

I had not been mistaken in my fancy that there was a simple dignity in him. The fashion of his dress could no more come in its way when he spoke these words, than it could come in its way in Heaven. He touched me gently on the forehead, and went out. As soon as I could recover myself sufficiently, I hurried out after him and looked for him in the neighbouring streets; but he was gone.

what are you doing? go read and enlighten your self !!

For the M2EC website, i just updated the colors a bit, changes the Gallery html structure and did some updating.

3 Things I’ve Learnt This Year

May 13th, 2010 — 12:31am
  1. Money, not knowledge, is what drives me forward. its like a hidden motivator.
  2. Micromanagement Is apparently the only way to handle projects. fortunately, muahaha!
  3. When there are too many cooks in the kitchen all you get is a mess. when too many people have a big say, the product is a big junk of mess.
one way to solve this is by having people have particular says in particular matters. this of-course doesn’t always w0rk.

yes, i suggest that a Product should be a Benevolent dictatorship (look it up). this is a big compromise, because casualties will occur. Hurt feelings and a couple of random Angry users.

but, I think, those things are necessary to create, manage, and come up with something unique that has a clear vision to achieve.

update: I no longer agree with the above statements.

Movie Review: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

May 2nd, 2010 — 10:25pm

When the trailer for this movie came out, i was busy with my academic work and didnt have a clue about the story of the movie.that was a big mistake.lets see why.

The Poster

The Poster

basically, this is another movie where the director and his story writers decide to make a movie based on a book without really basing the story on a book. they nuked the story to hell by not sticking to the original thing.

if you haven’t read the book yet (don’t, u will loose AT LEAST 3 brain cells), its based on Greek mythology, usual story of how the son of NeptÅ«nus wants fight the gods, except the twist here is that its on a modern setting with percy (son of NeptÅ«nus) not wanting to fight zus, but to actually give him a sweet hug  prove his own innocence. the movie takes another twist to it too.

the story just reminds of harry potter, minus all the hype and awesomeness!

the movie starts with percy, an unpopular nerd, find about his god-like powers. and finds out that his best friend is a goat  satyr and his school teacher is a centur!. anyway, they send him to a camp to learn about his powers. but hades soon comes after him to get the lightening bolt (a freaking lightening bolt) and takes his mother away.

soon percy decides to go to hell and meet hades to get his mom back. the story begins here when they start a quest of collecting magic balls, because..you know…you need balls to visit hell!

the movie ends by percy gets his mom back, proving  his innocence to the gods, and meeting his father.

The Verdict: The movie overall lacked any impressive action, and even thou the producers used CGI a lot, they didn’t cash-in with any impressive effects or action.

I give it 6/10 Abdul points. (4 for the story and 2 for having the story about magic balls.)

next review: revenge of the titans. same story sprinkled with awesomeness.
